A small plane veered off the runway and down an embankment at a Connecticut airport Thursday.
The incident occurred at Waterbury-Oxford Airport around 3:55 p.m., according to the Connecticut State Police.
The single-engine plane took off in Danbury just after 3 p.m. and landed in Oxford around 3:48 p.m., according to the flight tracking website Flight Aware.
The pilot was the only person aboard the aircraft, a Cessna, and was not injured. The plane sustained significant damage.
No information about what preceded the incident was released.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA) are investigating.
