Actor Tom Welling, best known for playing Clark Kent on the long-running series “Smallville,” was reportedly arrested Monday in California for driving under the influence.
Welling, 47, was picked up by police in an Arby’s parking lot in Yreka, near the Oregon border, just after midnight, according to TMZ. Welling’s blood alcohol level was allegedly at or above the legal 0.08% limit.
The actor has not commented on the arrest. It’s unknown what he was doing in the hours leading up to the incident, though he earlier wished his wife, Jessica Rose Lee Welling, a happy birthday on Instagram.
The couple, who wed in 2019 and keep a relatively low profile, live on a ranch with their two kids in Northern California.
“Smallville” aired on The WB (later The CW) for 10 seasons from 2001 to 2011. He more recently appeared as Marcus Pierce in 22 episodes of “Lucifer” and in The CW’s “Supernatural” spinoff “The Winchesters.”
