‘SNL’ star Chloe Fineman reacts to Aimee Lou Wood slamming sketch

Chloe Fineman is reflecting on that “Saturday Night Live” sketch.

The comedian, 36, responded after an Entertainment Tonight reporter asked her on Thursday about Aimee Lou Wood being upset by the show’s parody of “The White Lotus.”

“You know, we make stuff with love. I wasn’t writing the skit,” Fineman explained. “I wasn’t necessarily a decision-maker in any of that. But I know Sarah [Sherman] and I absolutely worship her. I tried to have Amy the week before in something. And I just, like, worship her and know that it was from love and we’ve moved on.”

Wood, 31, first called out “SNL” last month for how the show depicted her in “The White Potus” sketch.

During the skit, Sherman, 32, portrayed Wood’s character, Chelsea, by doing a British accent and wearing prosthetic teeth.

Wood took to her Instagram Stories, writing: “I did find the SNL thing mean and unfunny.”

In a follow-up slide, the actress continued: “Such a shame cuz I had such a great time watching it a couple weeks ago. Yes, take the piss for sure — that’s what the show is about — but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?”

“On a positive note, everyone is agreeing with me about it so I’m glad I said something instead of going in on myself.”

Fans flocked to Wood’s comments section and DM’s to share their support.

The British star wrote in a third post, “Omg I’ve got THOUSANDS of messages in agreement with me since posting that. Thanks guys. Glad I said something.”

Two hours later, Wood updated followers again, sharing, “I’ve had apologies from SNL.”

The “SNL” sketch made fun of Donald Trump and his tariffs, using the characters from the third season of the HBO show to act out a family scene.

According to TMZ, “Saturday Night Live” still had not formally apologized to Wood as of last month.

Sources shared with the outlet that they were told the “Sex Education” star “may have spoken to someone she knows on the show” who might have apologized. The NBC show itself, however, never issued a formal apology.

The insiders also alleged that “SNL” doesn’t “feel compelled to apologize” to Wood since the sketch comedy series “makes fun of everyone’s appearance.”

TMZ’s sources shared that everyone at the series loves Wood and the parody came “from a good place.”

Wood has previously spoken out about the constant chatter surrounding her looks, telling GQ in April, “It makes me really happy that it’s symbolizing rebellion and freedom, but there’s a limit.”

“The whole conversation is just about my teeth, and it makes me a bit sad because I’m not getting to talk about my work,” she continued. “They think it’s nice because they’re not criticizing. And, I have to go there … I don’t know if it was a man would we be talking about it this much? It’s still going on about a woman’s appearance.”

Reflecting on her childhood, Wood opened up about how her teeth shaped her confidence in a March 3 Instagram video, stating that “a big thing for me growing up was my mouth because it was the thing that everyone pointed out, and it was the thing that made me different.”

“Playing loads of different characters has really helped with my self-confidence surrounding beauty. I’ve had to surrender control a lot,” she added. “The more that you can surrender, the more beautiful you feel.”

Wood’s onscreen boyfriend, Walton Goggins, praised the “SNL” skit amid ongoing feud rumors between the co-stars. He recently was asked about the alleged fallout during an interview with the London Times. He cut off the interview multiple times, finally replying: “What the f–k?”
