“Days of Our Lives” and “Dynasty” star Wayne Northrop is dead at 77.
The soap opera veteran died surrounded by family in his Los Angeles home over Thanksgiving weekend, according to People. He’d reportedly been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s six years before his death Friday.
“Days of Our Lives” fans saw Northrop play detective Roman Brady in more than 1,000 episodes between 1981 and 1994. He also appeared on “Dynasty” 35 times in addition to having roles on “Baretta,” “The Waltons,” “L.A. Law,” “Port Charles” and “Hotel,” according to IMDB.
His 66-year-old wife actress wife, Lynn Herring Northrop, remembered her husband as “a husband for 43 years, the best dad ever to his two boys, Hank and Grady, and a rancher who loved his cows and was a friend to many.”
Northrop reportedly met his wife in an acting class. The pair spent the past 35 years operating a working cattle ranch in Raymond, Calif. Their children are both adults.
Lynn Herring Northrop also had a long career as a soap opera actor, appearing on “General Hospital” more than 800 times. She too worked on “Days of Our Lives,” L.A. Law,” and “Hotel,” according to IMDB.
