One soldier was killed and another was injured Wednesday evening in a helicopter training accident at a Kentucky base.
Officials at Fort Campbell, which is near the border with Tennessee, said the incident occurred around 7 p.m. and involved two 101st Airborne Division soldiers. The Army did not say what sort of helicopter was involved, or if there was a crash. No other details about the incident were released.
The injured soldier was taken to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital in Clarksville, Tennessee, and is in stable condition, officials said.
The names of the soldiers were not released.
The incident is still under investigation.
Nine soldiers were killed while training with night vision goggles at the same base in March 2023 when two Army Black Hawk helicopters collided.
