Son charged with murder of parents

The 30-year-old man suspected of killing his parents in the Long Island deli they operated has been identified as Vito Dambrosio.

He’s accused of stabbing to death 62-year-old Angela Pulisciano and 70-year-old Antonio Dambrosio Thursday morning at A & A Italian Deli & Pizza in Bethpage.

According to detectives, the female victim was pronounced dead at the crime scene. The male victim succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. They were both unresponsive when police arrived. CBS News said the suspect allegedly stabbed his mom first, then cut his father’s throat.

The younger Dambrosio was reportedly treated for unspecified injuries when he was taken into custody.

The suspect is being charged with first degree murder and was expected to be arraigned in his hospital bed Friday, Nassau County police tells the Daily News.

Witness Joe Boros told ABC News he saw the suspect exiting the deli after the apparent double-murder.

“I just saw the son walking out and he said ‘I just stabbed my parents,’ and that was it,” the 97-year-old witness said.

The suspect appeared calm as cops handcuffed him and seated him on a sidewalk. CBS News said he was wearing an ankle monitor and had an order of protection against him filed by a sibling. He was arrested without incident.

Cops reportedly received a 911 call alleging Dambrosio slapped a female coffee shop worker’s buttocks before heading to his family’s eatery.

A & A Italian Deli & Pizza has reportedly been in business for more than three decades. It’s not clear what prompted Thursday’s violence.
