In sickness and in health.
Carey Hart is on the mend after suffering an injury that made him end up in the hospital earlier this week.
The former professional motocross competitor has recently returned to the sport, which led to him getting hurt on Thursday.
“Welp, I ran out of talent. I had a pretty nasty get off, practicing Thursday morning. Landed off a jump, bars knifed, and took the bar to the gut while going over the bars. As I understand it, severed my small intestine from my colon,” he wrote via Instagram.
“I’m fine and will recover from this. Just a big thank you to @feedbigb for talking me into going to the ER, and a huge thanks to @pink. As always does in these situations w/ me, she steps up and takes charge at the hospital. Sorry to put you through this, yet again.”
Hart, 49, added several laughing emojis and shared a carousel of photos from his hospital stay, which included a bathroom selfie that showed staples on his stomach and bandages.
In one sweet photo, the couple’s children — daughter Willow, 13, and son Jameson, 8 — sit in the hospital room on their iPad and iPhone as their famous dad is taken care of.
“Thanks Willz and Jamo for coming to visit today. Gonna rest up this week, and start the healing process,” Hart went on in his message. “Sorry to everyone I ghosted over the last couple days. There was a good reason for it. I’m gonna take a few days off, and I’ll catch up with everyone next week.”
Hart previously thanked Pink after he had lower spine disc replacement surgery.
The athlete has also been by Pink’s side during health scares. In 2021, she thanked him as she recovered from hip surgery.
Hart, and Pink, 45, married in Costa Rica in 2006 after meeting at the Summer X Games in their 20s. They’ve endured plenty of ups and downs together, initially splitting in 2003 before reconciling the following year, and announcing a separation in 2008. In 2009, they called off their divorce.
In 2020, the musician — real name Alecia Beth Moore — credited therapy for the success of their marriage.
“When you first get together, you look at that person as your entire world. One person can’t be your entire world. You have to have your own passions, your own friends, your own time to yourself. I used to be super needy. Now we expect less of each other, and that allows us to give each other more somehow,” Pink told People in 2021.
Two years later, she gushed that Hart was her “muse” while accepting the Icon Award at the iHeart Radio Music Awards.
“If he loved me perfectly I would have nothing to say.”
