South Jersey man charged with beating girlfriend to death

A South Jersey man was arrested and charged with murder after allegedly beating his girlfriend to death, authorities announced Tuesday.

Cops said Boris Lainez-Rosales, 26, attacked Leslianet Quintana-Betancourt, 25, at around 1:30 a.m. Monday at the Pleasantville home they shared, NJ.com reported.

Quintana-Betancourt was rushed to a local hospital, where she died from multiple blunt-force injuries, according to News 12 New Jersey.

Lainez-Rosales was booked into Atlantic County Jail ahead of his first court appearance. He was charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence.

The circumstances that led to the alleged attack on Quintana-Betancourt were not publicized by police. The couple were living together in South Jersey, about 5 miles inland from Atlantic City.

Quintana-Betancourt’s death was not the only reported incident of domestic violence in South Jersey in recent days. About 40 miles west in Bridgeton, cops said a woman stabbed the father of her children to death outside a home, the Cherry Hill Courier-Post reported.

Wendy Perez, 27, was accused of killing Rafael Morales-Domingo, 26, on Sunday night, according to the outlet. Investigators said Morales-Domingo and Perez had a prior relationship and multiple children together. Morales-Domingo showed up on the doorstep of an apartment Perez was sharing with a new boyfriend, when she allegedly stabbed him to death with a kitchen knife.
