E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt will miss some upcoming tour dates with Bruce Springsteen while recovering from emergency surgery for appendicitis.
“Got a sharp pain in my stomach, thought it was food poisoning, turned out to be appendicitis. Got lucky with an exceptional hospital in San Sebastian,” the 74-year-old rocker known as Little Steven wrote on social media Monday afternoon.
“Operation was a complete success and I’m hoping to get back on stage for at least one of the shows in Milan. Thank you all for all the good vibes. See you soon.”
The Boss’ Land of Hope and Dreams Tour continues Tuesday in San Sebastian, Spain before heading to Germany later this before two dates in Milan next week. Van Zandt last performed on Saturday.
