A bearded bruiser beat a 67-year-old stranger with a metal pipe during a clash outside an East Harlem deli, cops said Saturday.
Police released surveillance images of the assault suspect in the hopes someone would recognize him.
The victim told police that he was outside a deli on Pleasant Ave. near E. 117th St. at about 9 p.m. on Aug. 3 when the stranger confronted him.
As the two argued, the suspect punched the victim in the face, then grabbed a metal pipe and struck the older man in the head and back with it before storming off.
It was not immediately disclosed what the two men were arguing about.
The victim sustained a deep cut to his head during the beating. He called 911, and EMS rushed him to Metropolitan Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries.
His attacker, who is described as being between 5 foot 10 and 6 foot 1, was last seen heading south on Pleasant Ave. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a black sweatshirt, grey sweatpants and black sneakers.
No arrests have been made.
Cops canvassing the area recovered surveillance footage of the attacker, who appeared agitated as he paced back and forth on the corner and spits on the sidewalk.
At one point during the attack, the suspect was carrying a black backpack with a water bottle sticking out of a side pocket, the video shows.
