Cops released photos of a man wanted for slashing a 29-year-old straphanger in the face a week ago aboard an F train in Queens, police said.
The suspect was onboard a southbound F train at the Jamaica-179th St. station around 4 a.m. on Aug. 9 when he approached the victim and said menacingly, “What are you looking at?” a police source said.
The victim responded, “I don’t want any problems,” at which point the man slashed him on the face with an unidentified sharp object, according to the source. The men were strangers to each other, police said.
After randomly slashing the victim, the attacker ran off. EMS transported the victim to an area hospital in stable condition.
In a screengrab released by police, apparently taken from security camera footage on the train, the alleged suspect is seen as a bearded man with a dark complexion. At the time, he was wearing a navy blue bucket hat and a short-sleeved navy blue button down shirt.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
