He’s not the right boy who lived.
“Stranger Things” star Noah Schnapp, 21, revealed that people often approach him thinking that he’s Daniel Radcliffe, 36.
Schnapp shared the mix-up during a recent interview on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” while talking about walking around in public with his co-stars.
“When we’re all together, it’s kind of insanity. But I will say, actually, when I’m alone, I’ve been getting Harry Potter the past few years. It happened three times last year, which has never happened to me before.”
Fallon asked, “People think you’re Harry Potter?”
The “Stranger Things” star explained, “Yeah. They’ll come up to me, and they’ll be like, ‘I love your show. Thank you.’ And I’m like, ‘Thank you so much. I appreciate the support.’ And then they’re like, ‘I adore Harry Potter. I love the character.’ And I’m like, ‘Oh, wrong franchise.’”
Schnapp acknowledged that there are similarities between Harry Potter, The Boy Who Lived, and his character Will Byers, who was thought to be dead on “Stranger Things” Season 1. During the first volume of the fifth and final season, he revealed new supernatural powers.
“‘The Boy Who Lived,’ ‘Zombie Boy,’” he said. “It kind of parallels.”
The two franchises also both have Broadway plays – Harry Potter has “The Cursed Child,” where movie star Tom Felton is reprising his role as Draco Malfoy, and “Stranger Things” has “The First Shadow.”
“Stranger Things” is in its final season after nearly a decade on the air, as the Netflix hit first premiered in 2016.
The show is set in the ’80s, and follows various characters combating supernatural forces in the small town Midwest – including Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Joyce (Winona Ryder), Hopper (David Harbour), Steve (Joe Keery), Robin (Maya Hawke), Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and Nancy (Natalia Dyer).
Mike and Nancy’s parents, Ted (Joe Chrest) and Karen (Cara Bueno) were previously oblivious to the supernatural dangers their kids were dealing with. But, they finally got in on the action when they suffered an attack from a demogorgon in the beginning of Season 5.
Chrest told The Post, “When I read the first script [for Season 5] I was like, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe this is going on!’ And then it just kept going and going and going. It was like a feeling of an upside-down roller coaster, just reading the script.”
He said that when he read their action scene, he had to put down the script to “call Cara [Buono], and then debrief.”
Season 5 of “Stranger Things” is currently streaming its first four episodes. Volume 2 drops Dec. 25 at 8 p.m., and the series finale airs Dec. 31 at 8 p.m.
