Suspect arrested for murder in caught-on-video Brooklyn block party shooting

A suspect has been arrested for the caught-on-video shooting death of a man sitting on a chair enjoying a Brooklyn block party — one of a half-dozen shootings over a six-hour stretch in the city this past weekend.

Tony Caba is accused of killing 45-year-old Roberto Cuevas in front of shocked partygoers near Fourth Ave. and 57th St. in Sunset Park.

The group had gathered to celebrate a neighbor’s 78th birthday, a witness told the Daily News. Cuevas was sitting in a plastic chair on the sidewalk when the shooter walked up to him, whipped out a gun without warning and fired five times at close range about 9:10 p.m. Saturday.

Medics rushed Cuevas to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he died from a gunshot wound to the back.

Cops say Caba, 39, lives in Kissimmee, Fla. He is charged with murder and gun possession and is expected to be arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court Monday.

Police have also released the name of the victim in a Brooklyn homicide that took place about five hours later.

Wilky Toribio Perez, 23, died after he was shot in the left shoulder on Pine St. near Etna St. in Cypress Hills about 2:25 a.m. Sunday. He lived in Flatbush, according to cops.

Toribio Perez died at Brookdale University Hospital.

Eight more people were wounded in four other shootings across Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx Saturday night into Sunday morning.
