A suspect has been identified in the quadruple murder of a Tennessee family discovered after a baby was found abandoned in a car.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is asking the public’s help locating Austin Robert Drummond, 28 — wanted on four counts of first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, four counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony.
The TBI said Drummond should be considered armed and dangerous, describing him as about 5-foot-10, 190 pounds and possibly driving a 2016 Audi A3 with Tennessee plates. The car has damage to the driver’s side.
Investigators found the bodies of 20-year-old Adrianna Williams, 21-year-old Matthew Wilson, 38-year-old Cortney Rose, and 15-year-old Braydon Williams on Tuesday night shortly after a baby was discovered in a car seat in a front yard at another home about 40 miles away. The baby, who was not hurt, has not yet been identified. Officials believe the 7-month girl was left at a random residence.
All four victims were related to the baby. Wilson and Adrianna Williams were her parents, Rose was the baby’s maternal grandmother, and Braydon Williams was Adrianna’s brother and the baby girl’s uncle.
According to Fox 13 Memphis, Drummond previously dated Cortney Rose’s sister.
The TBI did not release a motive for the slayings.
“Yes, he was close to our family,” family member Brier-Ashley Childress wrote on Facebook. “Yes, we cared about him and thought he cared about us.
“We NEVER expected him to cause ANY harm to ANYONE, much less anyone in our family. We are heartbroken. We are confused. We are devastated. We are MORTIFIED.
“If you think for one second that people only get hurt by strangers, look up 90% of murder cases. A lot of times it’s by someone close to them that at one time showed love and support to them. Sometimes it’s even their own spouse. So PLEASE think before you comment something ugly. Yes, we THOUGHT we knew him. Kaitlyn THOUGHT she knew him. Cortney, Adrianna, Braydon, and Matthew THOUGHT they knew him. We all trusted him.”
Anyone with information concerning his whereabouts is asked to call 731-415-7962, 731-333-0811, or 1-800-TBI-FIND, the TBI said.
