Tailored for Kim.
Sydney Sweeney paid tribute to ’50 icon Kim Novak with her custom look at the 2025 Met Gala.
The “Anyone But You” actress, 27, arrived on Monday for fashion’s biggest night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City wearing a curve-hugging Miu Miu black gown.
Sweeney rocked the cleavage-baring sparkling ensemble with beaded fringe down the sleeves and a keyhole bodice with confidence. She paired the glamorous attire with blinding De Beers diamonds, including a 7-carat ring the star allegedly purchased for herself.
Hours before walking the red carpet, Sweeney teased her look by posting a throwback image of Novak dressed in a similar gown.
She later shared how her Met outfit was a nod to the “Vertigo” actress, whom Sweeney is set to play in Colman Domingo’s directorial debut flick “Scandalous!”
“I always feel that [Miu Miu] just brings such beautiful stories to every dress,” she told Vogue, per People. “So this is actually paying homage to Kim Novak, and I’m doing a movie with Colman Domingo … so we wanted to really just bring that to life.”
Domingo, 55, was also a force to be reckoned with at this year’s Met Gala, as he, along with several others, like Rihanna’s man A$AP Rocky, served as co-chairs of the event.
The Emmy winner’s look was also a tribute piece.
Domingo wore a royal blue cape with an attention-grabbing breastplate before removing it to reveal his Valentino suit, a nod to the late fashion powerhouse André Leon Talley, who died in 2022.
The Met Gala 2025 theme is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” with the dress code being “Tailored for You.”
The “Fear the Walking Dead” actor’s upcoming film, titled “Scandalous!,” featuring Sweeney, will follow Novak’s real-life “forbidden romance” with Sammy Davis Jr. “at the height of Hollywood’s Golden Age” in the 1950s.
They ended their relationship after a studio head threatened the musician in order to break them up.
David Jonsson will star as Davis Jr., opposite Sweeney as Novak.
Tonight marked the “Euphoria” actress’ fourth Met Gala.
Her latest appearance comes just two months after she ended her engagement to her fiancé, Jonathan Davino, 41.
An insider claimed Sweeney was “overwhelmed” with her relationship and wedding details.
“She’s exactly where she wants to be,” the source told People magazine in March. “Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She’s all about working right now and very excited about all her projects.”
Sweeney also recently started production on Season 3 of “Euphoria,” with one of the actress’ first scenes showing her, ironically, wearing a wedding dress.
