Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce hope to have a “more private” wedding than fans might be hoping for the lovers, who announced their engagement late last month.
The American equivalent of the royal wedding “will definitely be a private affair and not a spectacle,” an insider told People this week.
The Grammy winner and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, both 35, “both have a close circle of friends, and they’ll respect their privacy.”
On Aug. 26, the A-listers — who have been dating since July 2023 — announced the most exciting chapter yet in their love story with a joint Instagram post.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” the engagement photos, from a garden at the Super Bowl champ’s home, were captioned, topped off with a dynamite emoji believed to reference their matching diamond “TNT” bracelets.
The happy news was announced on the heels of Swift’s Aug. 13 podcast debut on Kelce an’s hit “New Heights” podcast, which he hosts with big brother Jason.
Kelce’s dad Ed quickly ABC affiliate News 5 Cleveland that the couple got engaged at their shared Missouri home around Aug. 10 and that Swift was “getting maybe a little antsy” ahead of the proposal, which he’d known about for months.
On last week’s “New Heights,” Travis said he does “still get giddy” referring to the pop superstar as his fiancée: “It’s exciting times. Still fresh.”
