Three men were shot and wounded by a gunman in a red hoodie outside an East Village public housing complex early Sunday, cops said.
The victims were standing outside NYCHA’s Lillian Wald Houses, on E. 6th St. near Avenue D when the shooter opened fire about 3:30 a.m., police said.
One man, 41, was shot in the groin, while the other two, 35 and 37, were hit in the body, cops said. All three victims were taken to Bellevue Hospital and expected to recover.
The gunman ran off and has not been caught.
The Lillian Wald Houses had seen no shootings this year through Aug. 24, NYPD statistics show.
