Three Secret Service honchos put on leave, face misconduct probe over leaks

WASHINGTON — Three “non-law enforcement” Secret Service officials are facing investigation about misconduct believed to be related to leaks within the protective agency.

The three put on leave are believed to work in the communications office, including communications director Anthony Guglielmi, according to multiple reports. They’ve also lost their security clearances.

“Three non-law enforcement personnel at the U.S. Secret Service have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into potential misconduct,” a spokesperson told The Post. “Per policy, this incident is being investigated by the Office of Professional Responsibility. We are unable to comment further at this time.”

It is not entirely clear what type of leak investigation is being probed.

“The U.S. Secret Service is committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in fulfilling our zero-fail mission of protecting the President and other high-level government officials,” the spokesperson added. “Our critical work demands that our workforce maintain an unwavering commitment to duty, honesty, and courage in all aspects of their jobs.”

The Trump administration has been vexed about leaks on how the president avoided using his Qatari-gifted “palace in the sky” Air Force One jet to leave Turkey after the NATO summit and other critical security details that have since been exposed to the public.

President Trump had snuck out of his new Air Force One plane via a catering truck due to concerns about an Iranian threat and went onto another aircraft for the return trip back to the US.

Key details about internal concerns, such as the new Air Force One jet’s lack of advanced anti-missile systems, were leaked to the public last month, enraging the White House.

Last month, an agent on Vice President JD Vance’s detail was put on administrative leave due to accusations of spilling sensitive information to the press after an MS NOW report about supposed frustrations over the veep’s last-minute trips.

The Post contacted Guglielmi for comment.

Guglielmi helmed the Secret Service’s comms shop during the chaos that ensued after the July 13, 2024, Butler, Pa., shooting in which a bullet came within a quarter inch of killing Trump.

His tenure has been marked by a turbulent period in the Secret Service’s history, given the intense scrutiny over multiple security failures revolving around Trump, who has faced three known instances where a would-be assassin got hauntingly close to him.

The FBI and CIA are engaged in the probe of the three Secret Service officials who were put on administrative leave this week, RealClearPolitics reported.
