TikTok star Emman Atienza dead by suicide at 19

TikToker Emman Atienza has died at 19.

The social media star, who was known for her lifestyle videos, was the daughter of Filipino television host Kuya Kim Atienza and fitness guru Felicia Atienza.

Atienza died at her home in LA on October 22. TMZ reports that Atienza’s cause of death was listed by suicide, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

“It’s with deep sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our daughter and sister, Emman,” her parents announced in an Instagram post on Friday. “She brought so much joy, laughter, and love into our lives and into the lives of everyone who knew her.”

“Emman had a way of making people feel seen and heard, and she wasn’t afraid to share her own journey with mental health,” the statement continued. “Her authenticity helped so many feel less alone.”

“To honor Emman’s memory we hope you carry forward the qualities she lived by: compassion, courage, and a little extra kindness in your everyday life.”

Kim, 58, is a weather anchor for TV Patrol, and previously served as councilor of the 5th District of Manila for three terms.

In Nov. 2024, Atienza came under fire after posting a video of herself at dinner with her friends, including Filipino singer Rhaila Tomakin and Miss World Philippines Krishnah Gravidez.

The group ate at a Japanese restaurant with Atienza sharing a clip of them playing “guess the bill.”

The TikTok trend has people guessing how much the check is going to be and whoever is closest pays the bill.

The bill ended up being 133,000 Philippine Peso, which is $2,268. The video sparked outrage in the Philippines, where the average monthly wage is around 44,800 Philippine Peso which equals $794.

Atienza immediately deleted the post and took a hiatus from social media. She eventually explained that her family’s wealth didn’t come from any political affiliation as many suggested.

Recently, she’s taken fans along with her as she settled into life in Los Angeles.

Atienza captioned her last TikTok on Wednesday, “life lately🌸 does this go hard🌸 .”

The video showed clips of the teenager with friends, jumping into a lake, hiking, rock climbing, hanging out at the beach and Halloween festivities.
