TikTok star Girlalala shot in Florida, boyfriend arrested


TikTok star Girlalala, a wig and hair influencer, was shot to death by her boyfriend in Florida during an argument inside his car, police said.

Shanoyd Whyte Jr., 25, is facing a first-degree murder charge in connection with the killing of the 21-year-old wig and hair influencer, born Maurice Harrison, according to a press release from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies from Lauderdale Lakes responded to a medical call on Friday at around 7 p.m. When they arrived on the scene, near the 3300 block of Northwest 37th Street, authorities found the social media star suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside the passenger seat of a vehicle. She was rushed to an area hospital, where she pronounced dead a short time later.

Harrison, a hairstylist from Pompano Beach, had a following of more than 235,000 fans on TikTok, which has recently been deactivated, NBC Miami reported. Her Instagram profile, which is still active, boasted more than 41,000 followers as of Tuesday morning.

Whyte Jr. was taken into custody after the shooting and is being held without bond, according to arrest records cited by People. Authorities believe he shot Harrison after a “verbal argument” inside his car “turned physical.” He “told detectives he and the victim have been in a relationship for several years,” the sheriff’s office said.

A firearm was also recovered from the scene an an investigation into the matter is ongoing.
