Tony Danza insists he didn’t ghost Valerie Bertinelli.
The two stars playfully disagreed about their history when they both appeared on a cooking segment during Tuesday’s episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show.”
As Danza, 74, made his “date sauce” in front of the two women, Bertinelli, 65, told Danza, “So this is a sauce that you’ve never made for me even though I left my phone number in your glove box.”
“Did you ever find Val’s phone number in your glove box?” Barrymore, 50, directly asked the “Who’s The Boss?” actor.
“No I did not!” Danza responded, jokingly adding, “But I think she’s full of baloney!”
While Danza continued cooking his “date sauce,” he explained, “I used to say, ‘Hey, come over. I’ll cook something.’ And I cooked this stuff.”
“I don’t know, I never heard those words,” Bertinelli playfully interjected, as Barrymore asked Danza, “Is this how you wooed the ladies?”
Earlier in the episode, Bertinelli claimed to Barrymore that Danza “never called me,” as the crowd gasped.
“They never do, by the way,” Barrymore replied.
Danza was previously married to Rhonda Yeoman from 1970 to 1974 and to film producer Tracy Robinson from 1986 to 2013. He welcomed son Marc Anthony with Yeoman and daughters Katie and Emily with Robinson.
Bertinelli, for her part, was married to late rocker Eddie Van Halen from 1981 to 2007 and financier Tom Vitale from 2011 to 2022. She dated writer Mike Goodnough for less than a year before they broke up in Nov. 2024.
During another recent appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” Bertinelli admitted that she’s “never been on a first date.”
“No one’s ever asked me out,” the “One Day at a Time” star shared, before pointing out that she was young at the time of her first marriage.
“Well, I got married at 20 and I was married for 20 years, 20 some odd years,” she said.
Bertinelli also looked back on meeting Van Halen, who died of throat cancer in Oct. 2020.
“My brother Patrick, brought us to the concert that they were having in Shreveport, Louisiana,” she recalled. “My parents lived out there and we just made eyes and then we talked backstage and then we talked, after the show and then he asked me out to a concert in Oklahoma, so Patrick and I went and then we were together ever since.”
“Eight months later, we were married,” Bertinelli added.
