Travis Kelce made his first public appearance at Arrowhead stadium since announcing his engagement to Taylor Swift, but not everyone was happy to see him there.
During the college football game between the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Cincinnati Bearcats — the 35-year-old University of Cincinnati alum showed up to support his alma mater as they kicked off their season.
When Kelce was shown on the Jumbotron alongside Swift, who was also in attendance, the NFL star was met with boos from a large crowd of fans at the stadium.
The Kansas City chiefs tight end reacted by pointing at his Cincinnati Bearcats hat from his suite as Nebraska fans, who dominated the crowd in attendance, erupted with boos and thumbs down.
Also in attendance was the Chiefs star’s older brother, Jason Kelce, who also played for U of Cincinnati from 2007 to 2010. In addition, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was there to show his support.
The newly engaged Kelce is gearing up for his 13th season with the Chiefs in the upcoming 2025 NFL season. Their first regular season appearance is on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers on September 5.
The last time fans saw Kelce on the field was at Super Bowl LIX when the Chiefs were dominated by the Eagles. Kelce says after last year’s loss he only has one goal this upcoming season.
“Win a Super Bowl is the only goal,” Kelce told GQ. “It’s the only goal. It’s every goal.”
