Travis Kelce suggested this week that he’s getting ready to hang up his jersey and prepare for life off the football field.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, beat the Cleveland Browns Sunday 21-7 in what he said was a potentially final hometown showdown.
“Dude, I just love that city,” the Ohio native said on Wednesday’s episode of the “New Heights” podcast he hosts with big brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce. “It felt so surreal and I don’t know if it’s the last time I’ll ever play in Cleveland, but it kind of felt like I was giving it one last hoo-rah before I’m done.”
The younger Kelce didn’t detail when exactly he’s ditching the field for civilian life, but suggested it’s not far off.
“I’ve only played [in Cleveland] twice in 12 years, so unless we get thrown down there in the next couple, I don’t really see it ever happening again,” Kelce said. “Shout out to everybody from the Heights and everyone who’s ever supported me.”
Since the fall of 2023, much of the world has taken an interest in Kelce’s personal life, often more so than that of his player stats, thanks to his jet-setting love story with Taylor Swift.
The couple hosted the Grammy winner’s parents as well as Jason, his wife Kylie, and their growing family this Thanksgiving.
It was reported earlier this month that the lovers would similarly host Christmas for their families.
Kelce’s next move is about as up in the air as that of 35-year-old Swift’s, after she wrapped up her record-breaking Eras Tour earlier this month.
