President Trump took time away from his Middle East visit to insult Bruce Springsteen, who’s touring Europe and making clear to fans there that he doesn’t support what’s happening in the USA right now.
Trump’s online dig, posted shortly after Springsteen called the President’s administration “corrupt, incompetent and treasonous” in front of an English audience included a thinly veiled warning.
“I see that Highly Overrated Bruce Springsteen goes to a Foreign Country to speak badly about the President of the United States,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
The president made clear he’s never been a fan of Springsteen, his music or his “radical left politics” in a rant calling The Boss “dumb as a rock.”
The 78-year-old Republican attacked Springsteen over his support for Trump’s predecessor, Democrat Joe Biden, and implied there will be consequences for the 75-year-old leader when he returns home.
“This dried out ‘prune’ of a rocker (his skin is all atrophied!) ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the Country, that’s just ‘standard fare,’” Trump claimed from abroad. “Then we’ll all see how it goes for him!”
The statements made by Springsteen that angered the president were made during a show in Manchester on Wednesday, which is where the “Born in the USA” singer is booked to perform again on Saturday.
“In my home, the America I love, the America I’ve written about, that has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent and treasonous administration,” he said to thunderous applause.
The New Jersey native and Presidential Medal of Freedom honoree called on “the righteous power of art, of music, of rock ‘n’ roll” to fight back against those things.
Trump also found time to attack popstar Taylor Swift for no apparent reason while overseas on Friday.
“Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’” he asked.
Shortly after praising the “unusually beautiful” singer in a taped interview last year, Trump declared in September that he “HATE[S] TAYLOR SWIFT” after she publicly supported Democrat Kamala Harris in her failed 2024 presidential campaign.
Trump also famously lashed out at singer Bette Midler as a “washed up psycho” while visiting Great Britain’s Royal Family in 2019.
