Trio steals breaks into Staten Island home, steals $6K worth of jewelry

Cops are looking for a trio of thieves who broke into a elderly person’s home on Staten Island — and took off with their jewelry, the NYPD said Tuesday.

Three men entered the home of an 83-year-old person on April 17 around 1 p.m. near Ionia Ave. and Foster Road in the Woodrow neighborhood. The thieves — all wearing baseball caps and masks — grabbed around $6,000 worth of jewelry and then took off in a vehicle traveling south on Ionia Ave., cops said

It was unclear if the homeowner was inside during the heist; no injuries were reported in the burglary.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls are confidential.
