A federal judge ruled Tuesday that the Trump administration’s effort to end New York’s congestion pricing scheme was “unlawful.”
Judge Lewis J. Liman wrote that Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy’s effort to unilaterally end congestion pricing was not permitted.

Liman had previously handed proponents of the toll — including Gov. Kathy Hochul, the MTA and transportation advocate groups — a temporary restraining order to keep the cameras on, but the new ruling puts an end to Duffy’s attempt to kill the tolling agreement through a series of letters and threats sent last year.
