Trump endorses ‘America First Patriot’ KC Crosbie to replace daughter-in-law Lara at RNC



President-elect Donald Trump endorsed KC Crosbie on Monday to succeed his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, as co-chair of the Republican National Committee.

Crosbie, 55, is the sitting treasurer of the RNC and a committeewoman for the organization from Kentucky. 

“America First Patriot KC Crosbie is running to become the next Co-Chair of the Republican National Committee, to replace the fantastic Lara Trump!” the president-elect wrote on Truth Social.

Trump, 78, lauded Crosbie’s work smashing “every fundraising record in History” during her time as RNC treasurer and credited her with having “fortified our Party’s financial foundation.”

“KC has been with me from the very beginning, helping REAL Republicans get elected across the Country, and would be a tremendous Co-Chair of the RNC!” the president-elect added. “KC will work on continuing to ensure a highly functioning, fiscally responsible, and effective RNC that makes Election Integrity a highest priority.”

Crosbie will vie to replace outgoing RNC co-chair Lara Trump, who announced Sunday that she plans to formally step down from her post at the group’s next meeting.

Elected as RNC co-chair in March, Lara Trump, 42, was a central figure in Republicans taking control of the White House and Senate while maintaining a majority in the House on Election Day.

“The job I came to do is now complete,” Lara Trump wrote on X. 

In an interview with the Associated Press, she expressed interest in filling Secretary of State-designate Marco Rubio’s Senate seat in Florida. 

“It is something I would seriously consider,” Lara Trump told the outlet. 

 In his endorsement of Crosbie, Trump praised Lara’s work at the RNC. 

“Lara, together with Chairman Michael Whatley, transformed the RNC into a lean, focused, and powerful machine that is empowering the MAGA Movement for many years to come,” the president-elect wrote. “Thank you for your hard work, Lara, in MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Trump also announced a pair of administration picks on Monday. 

The president-elect tapped Mark Paoletta to serve as general counsel of the Office of Management and Budget and Harmeet Dhillon to serve as assistant attorney general for civil rights at the Department of Justice. 

Paoletta, whom Trump called “a brilliant and tenacious lawyer,”  held the same role during the 45th president’s first term. 

Dhillon is a religious-liberty lawyer and 2020 Trump campaign legal adviser.  

“Harmeet is a respected member of the Sikh religious community,” Trump noted on X. “In her new role at the DOJ, Harmeet will be a tireless defender of our Constitutional Rights, and will enforce our Civil Rights and Election Laws FAIRLY and FIRMLY.”
