Trump mocks ‘big, fat slob’ J.B. Pritzker at White House turkey pardon event

President Trump took potshots at Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s weight during the annual White House turkey pardoning ceremony, ridiculing him as a “big, fat slob” while criticizing the state for declining the deployment of federal forces to crack down on Chicago’s out-of-control crime problem.

Shortly after pardoning this year’s turkeys, Waddle and Gobble, from the recently revamped White House rose garden, Trump aimed some pointed barbs at some of his political rivals, including the Prairie State’s portly chief executive.

Speaking of last week’s horrifying fire attack of 26-year-old Bethany MaGee on a Chicago L train, and the city and state’s refusal to ask for help from the feds, Trump uncorked on Pritzker as well as Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson.

“The mayor is incompetent, and the governor is … a big, fat slob,” he said with a comically-timed pregnant pause.

“He ought to invite us and say ‘please make Chicago safe.’ We’re gonna lose a great city if we don’t do it quickly,” Trump warned.

Minutes later in his remarks, Trump was in full comedian-in-chief mode, mercilessly trolling Pritzker while mocking Chicago’s soft-on-crime policies.

“I looked at the various cases, granting mercy, discovering the terrible trauma that everyone’s going through, and I had a little bit of a Pritzker joke.

I was going to talk about Pritzker in size, but when I talk about Pritzker I get angry because he’s not letting us do the job. So I’m not going to tell my Pritzker joke,” he said before delivering a brutal about-face in the next breath.

Trump and Pritzker have traded jabs about each other’s waistlines before, the president advising the governor should “spend more time in the gym,” to which Pritzker replied, “it takes one to know one.” AP

“They have a very cute little Pritzker joke — some speechwriter wrote some joke about his weight. But I would never want to talk about his weight. I don’t talk about people being fat. I refuse to talk about the fact that he’s a fat slob, I don’t mention it,” Trump continued before poking fun at himself.

“I’d like to lose a few pounds too, by the way. And I’m not going to lose it on Thanksgiving,” he quipped.

It wasn’t the first time Trump opined on Pritzker’s waistline. In August, the president said the Democrat “ought to spend more time in the gym, actually.”

Pritzker shot back the next day, “It takes one to know one on the weight question.”
