Trump posts meme of himself chasing Obama in O.J. Simpson spoof

President Donald Trump shared a bizarre meme Saturday morning depicting himself and Vice President JD Vance chasing former President Barack Obama in an altered photo from O.J. Simpson’s infamous white Bronco police chase.

The image — originally posted by Donald Trump Jr. on Instagram earlier this week — shows the two Republicans superimposed into the iconic June 1994 pursuit. Obama is depicted behind the wheel of Simpson’s Ford Bronco during the slow-speed chase in Southern California that followed Simpson’s murder charge.

On Saturday, the president reposted the image without comment on Instagram and also shared it on his social media platform, Truth Social.

The repost — which appears to mock Obama while framing Trump and Vance as pursuers — seems to allude to the president’s recent, unsubstantiated allegations that Obama committed “treason” in connection with the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Critics say the unfounded accusations are just another tactic for the Trump administration to deflect from the growing demands to release more information about the investigation into late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Trump has called for the grand jury testimony transcripts related to Epstein’s 2019 indictment to be unsealed, but has yet to order the release of Justice Department files in which he’s said to be mentioned “multiple times.”
