The first seven seasons of President Donald Trump’s competition reality show “The Apprentice” will stream on Amazon Prime Video.
Season 1, which originally aired in 2004, became available on the streamer on Monday. The subsequent seasons will roll out weekly until April 27.
Trump, 78, said in a statement, “I look forward to watching this show myself — such great memories, and so much fun, but most importantly, it was a learning experience for all of us!”
“The Apprentice” was created by Mark Burnett, who also served as an executive producer alongside Trump. Burnett, 64, was named Trump’s special envoy to the United Kingdom following the 2024 election.
“‘The Apprentice’ is one of the best shows that I ever produced,” said Burnett. “The charismatic onscreen presence of President Donald J. Trump made it a bona fide hit! Now, thanks to Prime Video, a whole new audience will experience a new season every Monday.”
Burnett continued, “This show is a love letter to New York City! ‘Survivor’ grew an entirely new massive audience as result of old seasons being binged during the pandemic. On Monday, March 10, this same phenomenon will begin again…with ‘The Apprentice.’”
The reality series typically featured 16 contestants competing in business-related challenges to win a job at one of Trump’s companies and a $250,000 salary. Contestants were eliminated from the show by Trump’s signature catchphrase “You’re fired!”
The first season of the show reportedly averaged over 20 million weekly viewers on NBC.
Trump hosted seven regular “Apprentice” seasons and seven “Celebrity Apprentice” seasons, which were won by Piers Morgan, Joan Rivers, Bret Michaels, John Rich, Arsenio Hall, Trace Adkins and Leeza Gibbons.
The 15th season of the show, also a celebrity season, was hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger after Trump left the series when he decided to run for president in 2015.
“The Apprentice” was owned by MGM, which was acquired by Prime Video in 2022 for $8.5 billion. Burnett left MGM later that year, according to Deadline.
Amazon’s streaming service is also working on a documentary about First Lady Melania Trump.
According to Variety, the project is being directed by Brett Ratner. Filming began in Dec. 2024, one month after the election.
A studio spokesperson called the film, which is set to be released later this year, “an unprecedented, behind-the-scenes look” at Melania, 54.
“The Apprentice” is also the same name as Ali Abbasi’s 2024 film about Trump’s real estate career in NYC. Sebastian Stan played Trump while Jeremy Strong played his lawyer, Roy Cohn. Both actors were nominated for Oscars for their performances.
