WASHINGTON — President Trump alleged Tuesday that the July 13, 2024, attempt on his life in Butler, Pa., was part of a “Democratic plot” against him.
“Everybody knows the Crooked Joe Biden FBI didn’t do what they should have with respect to the Lunatic who shot me in Butler, PA,” Trump posted on Truth Social, in response to newly revealed information about Crooks reported by The Post.
“By the time I got into Office, on January 20th, most of the information was missing, altered, corrupted, or gone. New info was just found! Why wasn’t it seen long ago? This was all a Democrat Plot, to get me out of the Election, that failed,” the president added.
“Dirty Cop [former FBI Director] Christopher Wray should pay a price for the way he handled this assassination attempt, and certainly for the things he said.”
Trump nominated Wray to helm the FBI during his first term — a move he made at the advice of former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
On Monday, The Post revealed new details about how Crooks unnerved his own father with his quiet demeanor and meticulously plotted the Trump shooting, using the pseudonym “Bob Dole” to conceal implicating purchases.
