Two people killed by MTA trains one hour apart in Brooklyn and Manhattan

Two people died within an hour of each other Sunday night after being hit by subway trains in Brooklyn and Manhattan, authorities said.

Around 6 p.m., a man fell onto the southbound tracks at the L train station at Sutter Ave. in East New York and was struck by a train, police said. First responders pronounced the man dead at the scene.

In an unrelated incident an hour later, just after 7 p.m. at the East Broadway F train station in lower Manhattan, a person stumbled onto the tracks on the Brooklyn-bound side just as a train arrived in the station, according to a witness. EMS pronounced the victim dead at the scene, an FDNY spokesperson said.

No criminality is suspected in either case, according to police.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of either victim.
