The entirety of the nearly 15-minute video showing Sean “Diddy” Combs brutally beating ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2016 was released Tuesday, following her second day of testimony in the hip-hop mogul’s federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial.
The disturbing footage begins with Ventura, now 38, kneeling in front of an elevator at Los Angeles’ InterContinental Hotel on March 5, 2016.
Just after 11 a.m. local time according to the video timestamp, Ventura is bent over, gathering her belongings, when Diddy emerges in a towel, yanks the R&B artist by her hoodie and throws her to the ground, kicking her.
He gathers her things and kicks her again, as she’s lying on the ground, then drags her toward the hall. Ventura remains on the floor for a few moments before standing and turning toward the camera, looking up at it. She picks up a hotel phone. Combs once again comes out and she hangs up.
Ventura watches him walk off with her things as she holds what appears to be a towel or tissue against her face. Combs then stalks toward her again and the two can be seen bickering in the mirror.
They talk to each other from opposite sides of the elevator bank.
The footage cuts then to another hallway, where Ventura is walking. About a minute later, Combs follows. He returns, once again dragging Ventura, who again disappears out of view.
Combs continues through the hall and out of sight. when he returns to view he stands in his towel and striped socks and appears to be admonishing Ventura. He walks out once again and then both he and Ventura return to the hall of their room.
She walks in one direction as he and his bodyguard walk in the other and confer for a couple minutes before Diddy re-enters the room. The bodyguard remains in the hall as Ventura strolls back and then follows the guard into the room before emerging with her belongings and returns to the elevators.
The bodyguard isn’t far behind and ducks toward the elevator bank before checking other parts of the hallway, presumably looking for Ventura. Combs, still in his socks and towel, also follows, phone in hand. He’s on the phone when he returns to his room, from which housekeepers then exit.
The male housekeeper then stands beside the elevator bank, through which Ventura exited before and appears to be talking to someone there.
The footage then cuts back to 11:10, showing a different angle of Combs chasing Ventura out toward the elevators and ultimately dragging her.
At 11:17, the bodyguard can be seen following Combs to the room before Ventura returns, saying something inaudible. It again cuts to 11:23, when Ventura leaves and is followed by the guard.
The extended footage comes nearly a year after CNN published the initial haunting video of Combs attacking Ventura last May.
Diddy’s lawyers in March claimed that CNN had since destroyed the only known copy of the video, which the network denied.
The video came months after Ventura filed a blockbuster lawsuit in November 2023, accusing Combs of rape, sex trafficking and physical abuse. They settled the following day, and a slew of similarly disturbing lawsuits from other accusers followed.
Currently eight-and-a-half months pregnant, Ventura is testifying this week as the star witness in Diddy’s trial.
He was arrested in September and currently faces life in prison if convicted.
