United Airlines said its flights were grounded nationwide Wednesday due to an unspecified “technology issue.”
The Federal Aviation Administration issued the stops, halting travelers, with the technical issues impacting airports in Chicago, Denver, Houston, San Francisco and Newark, according to CBS News.
“Due to a technology issue, we are holding United mainline flights at their departure airports,” the United said in a statement to ABC 7. “We expect additional flight delays this evening as we work through this issue. Safety is our top priority, and we’ll work with our customers to get them to their destinations.”
No other details on the ground stop were immediately released.
