Police investigate after a masked gunman murdered United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, 50, outside a Midtown Hilton hotel early Wednesday morning, Dec. 4, 2024, in New York City. The executive was set to speak in front of a ballroom full of colleagues when he was shot and killed before 7 a.m. outside a hotel on 6th Ave. near W. 54th St. The gunman is still at large after fleeing the scene where police suspect he may have been lying in wait for Thompson.
