Tevin Hood, an up-and-coming Atlanta rapper better known as T-Hood, was fatally shot Friday night at his home in Georgia, according to police.
Officers responded to a residence in the Atlanta suburb of Snellville at around 7 p.m. following reports of a dispute that erupted into gunfire, the Gwinnett County Police Department said in a press release.
Upon arriving to the scene, officers located one man who’d been shot, later identified by family members as 33-year-old Hood, according to local ABC affiliate WSB-TV.
First responders attempted to render aid before transporting Hood to the hospital, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
A motive for the shooting remains under investigation, police said. No arrests had been made as of Saturday, though one person was detained and is in the process of being interviewed.
Gwinnett County police did not immediately respond to the Daily News’ request for additional information.
Hood was well-known in the Atlanta rap scene and had around 7,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel at the time of his death. Some of his most popular videos are for the tracks “War Ready” and “Foreva,” which boast 186,000 and 143,000 views, respectively.
“Mannn not my dawg T Hood,” hip-hop historian Nuface captioned a video of Hood at a recent gig.
According to DJ Burn One, Hood had been scheduled to appear at an event at Atlanta’s Tree Sound Studios on Friday night.
