Vanna White on ‘Wheel of Fortune’ retirement plans 1 year after Pat Sajak’s exit

Vanna White is feeling lucky.

The letter-turning legend, 68, recently opened up about working on “Wheel of Fortune” for almost 45 years.

“At this point, it’s one year at a time,” she told E! News on Wednesday about her future on the series.

White added that “at this point, I’m happy with my job, I’m continuing on ‘Wheel,’ and we will take one year at a time and go from there.”

“You never know what’s around the corner,” she continued. “You just don’t. Something might come to me that I want to be involved in. I just take one day at a time.”

But when White is ready for retirement, she sees herself on the green.

“I don’t think there’s anything else on TV I would rather do after being on ‘Wheel’ for so long,” she confessed. “Honestly, I think I wanna just play golf when I retire.”

White kicked off working alongside Pat Sajak on “Wheel of Fortune” on Dec. 13, 1982.

After 42 years, the beloved host, 79, announced his retirement in 2023.

Ryan Seacrest took over in 2024 for Season 42.

At the time, White signed a two-year contract but told People she “of course” considered leaving alongside Sajak.

However, as White put it: “I’m not ready to retire, so I am staying on.”

In April, the television personality revealed what it has been like working alongside Seacrest, 50.

“He did slip right in because he did his research and his homework. He really studied, and he practiced and all that,” she told The Post. “So he did a good job stepping in, and he always said, ‘I am not replacing Pat Sajak. I’m not taking his place. I’m just stepping in.’”

The pair even took the show to Hawaii for a special episode while Seacrest filmed “American Idol.”

“We had so much fun and he’s such a character,” White gushed. “I mean, him falling into the water and doing all those fun things. We had a great time.”

Since first joining the game show in the ’80s, White has donned over 8,000 gowns on air.

Despite not taking home any of the looks, one dress will always be an all-time favorite.

“There is one; it didn’t come home with me, but it stuck out of all the over 8,000 dresses I’ve worn,” she said. “It was a full-length white dress, and the bottom had pink feathers. When I was a kid, I had a Barbie that had that outfit or something similar, and it reminded me of it for some reason. And pink’s my favorite color, and it was just perfect.”

Meanwhile, Seacrest has also praised working alongside White over the past year.

“I have a lot fun with the job, but I take the responsibility very seriously,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in June. “We all have memories of watching ‘Wheel’ with our families. I mowed lawns growing up in Atlanta just to save money to buy a Zenith TV for the kitchen so we could watch ‘Wheel’ during dinner!”

“There were conversations — actually, years ago — about me doing this show, and I expressed interest even back then,” Seacrest shared. “When you look at what Pat and Vanna have built over the years … they are your friends. What they’ve established is special. So that’s why I said yes.”

As for his favorite part of working on both “Wheel of Fortune” and “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune,” the host detailed: “It can get physical, too!”

“Maybe it’s my size, but the men throw me around,” Seacrest noted about contestants. “I think, ‘Oh my God, it’s coming.’ I bruise easily, you should know.”
