The fiancée of Ryan Whyte Maloney, the singer best known for competing on “The Voice,” witnessed the moment he died of suicide at the age of 44, according to a police report.
The couple fought moments before Maloney passed on Tuesday, January 28, the fiancée told law enforcement, per the report obtained by TMZ.
Maloney was intoxicated, his fiancée claimed, saying they argued in the car after leaving the New York-New York Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, where he performed earlier that evening.
While driving home, Maloney’s fiancée asked him if he had her jacket, the report stated. After the “Voice” crooner replied that he didn’t, he allegedly grew annoyed and eventually called her a “bitch.”
Maloney proceeded to reach into the glove compartment of the car, grab a gun and exit the vehicle, the report added.
His fiancée said she then heard a gunshot and opened her car window to yell for Maloney, but he had already taken off.
Leaving the car herself, she ran after him. At that point, she heard a second gunshot and saw Maloney’s body collapse to the ground.
After she called 911, police arrived and pronounced Maloney dead at the scene.
The police report stated that Maloney had previously contemplated suicide and harmed himself.
The Las Vegas Police Department did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
This is a developing story.
