Weezer bassist Scott Shriner broke his silence Thursday after his wife was shot by cops and slapped with an attempted murder charge — bizarrely using the opportunity to promote his band’s upcoming Coachella show this weekend.
Shriner’s gun-toting wife, Jillian Shriner, 51, was shot and wounded outside their Los Angeles home Wednesday afternoon after she allegedly became caught up in an unrelated Hollywood-style police manhunt in their neighborhood.
“She’s alright, thank you for asking,” the 59-year-old rocker said as he casually walked four dogs outside their home on Thursday.
“See you at Coachella!” he added, as he returned to the gated-home with the couple’s four dogs.
The saga involving his wife erupted in the northeast Los Angeles neighborhood of Eagle Rock as police were chasing down three men from an earlier hit-and-run on the nearby highway.
Cops were following one of the perps into a backyard when they allegedly came face-to-face with Jillian — who was armed with a 9-mm handgun — on the porch of her home.
They ordered Jillian to drop the gun “numerous times” — but she refused and pointed it directly at the officers, police alleged.
An officer opened fire and struck the musician’s wife in the shoulder, police said.
Aerial footage captured by KTLA’s news choppers showed an injured Jillian walking down her driveway with her hands in the air to surrender to cops.
She then laid face-down on the ground before being cuffed by police.
Jillian was later booked on suspicion of attempted murder for wielding the gun at officers.
She cut loose after posting a $1 million bond, records showed.
Jillian, a best-selling author, hasn’t commented on the ordeal.
