Weezer to play Coachella days after bassist’s wife shot by cops

Weezer plans to take the stage at Coachella just days after bass player Scott Shriner’s wife was shot by police in Los Angeles and booked for attempted murder.

The “Say it Ain’t So” rockers will be at full strength when they perform Saturday at the California festival, with sources telling TMZ that Shriner is committed to the show despite the incident.

However, it’s “doubtful” his wife, Jillian Lauren, will attend the performance after being treated for a bullet wound to the shoulder, taken into custody, then released on $1 million bond.

She was wounded Tuesday afternoon after allegedly pointing a gun at police that were searching for a hit-and-run suspect who had fled into her L.A. neighborhood.

Cops claim they opened fire after Lauren, 51, ignored repeated commands to drop her weapon, then allegedly fired a single shot at officers. A 9mm handgun was later found in her home, police said.

Following the shooting, Lauren reportedly told authorities she was trying to defend herself and her family as the fleeing suspect prowled her neighborhood, according to CBS News.

She and Shriner have been married since 2005 and live in the Eagle Rock area with their two sons. Shriner was inside their home when the shooting occurred, reported TMZ.

Lauren is a top-selling author from New Jersey who writes about her own adventures, which include having been a part of a harem.

Weezer formed in Los Angeles in 1992. The band has recorded 15 studio albums and won a Grammy for Best Short Form Music Video.
