‘Weird Science’ star Kelly LeBrock is a ‘recluse’ after Hollywood exit

Kelly LeBrock is proud she left Hollywood behind her.

Over 20 years after the “Weird Science” actress quit the industry, LeBrock, 65, gave rare insight into her life living on a ranch in California’s Santa Ynez Valley.

“I don’t really go out anymore. I’m sort of a bit of a recluse, but I like it like that,” the former actress told the Daily Mail in an interview published Monday.

“I gave up diamonds for dirt, and I have a big ranch that I have horses and cattle and dogs and chickens, and I take care of it myself,” LeBrock added. “I have one man, one day a week that comes and helps.”

LeBrock’s ranch property is located behind a lake as “a little gem of its own.”

“I live in church. The countryside there is so incredible,” she shared.

While opening up about her health challenges, LeBrock confirmed that she’s battled cancer “a couple of times,” but now she’s feeling better than ever.

“Happy to be here,” she told the outlet.

LeBrock’s most famous role is in the late John Hughes’ 1985 teen fantasy comedy film “Weird Science,” also starring Anthony Michael and Ilan Mitchell-Smith.

She went on to appear in the 1990 action thriller “Hard to Kill” opposite her then-husband, Steven Seagal, with whom she shares three children: Arissa, Annaliza and Dominic.

After the former couple divorced in 1996, LeBrock decided to walk away from Hollywood and move to her ranch.

She got remarried to retired investment banker Fred Steck in 2007. They got divorced the following year.

In 2021, LeBrock told Fox News that “Hollywood wasn’t a place where I wanted to raise my children.”

“My divorce was very much in the press. And I’m just not a Hollywood girl. Never have been,” she explained. “I never really liked the attention. I wanted to have dirt in my nails and be in the outdoors.”

“So I quit my career and moved to the wilderness where I lived with no television for 25 years,” she continued. “I did the best that I could as a single mom. I have three wonderful children. I could always go back to my career. I could never go back to my children. Some people can do both. But I already had the fame and was done with it.”

LeBrock revealed that being famous “just caused trauma.”

She confirmed she’s not a fan of social media either.

“It’s gotten out of control. I don’t want a part of it. I don’t have a computer. I have internet but it’s bad service. And I like it that way. I’m very happy,” she noted.
