Las Vegas is looking back to the not-so-distant past this weekend.
On Oct. 18-19, the annual When We Were Young Festival returns to Sin City for the fourth consecutive year and is once again bringing a cavalcade of throwback ’00s acts to entertain punk, emo, screamo and indie rock fanatics.
Just a few of the biggest artists on the bill include chart-toppers Panic! At The Disco (delivering 2005’s “A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out” in its entirety after unofficially retiring in 2023), household name headliner Blink-182 (playing tracks from their 1999 “Enema Of The State” and 2001 “Take Off Your Pants and Jacket” records), pop-punk princess Avril Lavigne, hook-y hitmakers Weezer and the always hard-edged yet amusing The Offspring.
All Time Low, Knocked Loose, The Gaslight Anthem, Jack’s Mannequin and Bad Religion are just a few of the other big-ticket acts slated to perform on Saturday and Sunday.
If you want to be there, last-minute single and multi-day WWWY passes are available.
At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on two-day passes for the 7/11-backed, two-day musical extravaganza start at $884 including fees on Vivid Seats.
Single-day passes start at $422 including fees.
Hot Topic mainstays from back in the Clinton/Bush/Obama days like The Used, Yellowcard, Simple Plan, and Taking Back Sunday round out the lineup along with newly-added Chiodos and Drain in place of Sleeping with Sirens and Never Shout Never.
And, yes, The Plain White T’s of “Hey There, Delilah” fame will be there, too.
In total, our team found over 50 (!) anti-authoritarian acts scheduled to rock the Entertainment Capital of the World on Saturday and Sunday.
“The entire city seemed transformed, buzzing with excitement and packed with fans dressed in black tees emblazoned with band logos, studded belts, ripped jeans, and Converse sneakers that had seen countless mosh pits,” Rival Magazine wrote about the ’24 fest. “Walking down the Strip, I could feel the energy radiating from every corner, with groups of fans laughing, singing, and snapping photos. You couldn’t go far without hearing snippets of someone’s favorite song or spotting a tattoo commemorating an album or a lyric that had meant everything to them.”
