Where to buy tickets, best prices

Fresh off an “SNL” hosting stint, Paul Mescal is extending his New York stay.

The Oscar nominee will make his U.S. stage debut playing Stanely Kowalski in an adaptation of “A Streetcar Named Desire” at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Harvey Theater from February through April 2025.

This won’t be Mescal’s first time inhabiting the iconic role. Prior to hitting Brooklyn, the 28-year-old actor played the part made famous by Marlon Brando at London’s West End. In 2023, he won an Olivier Award.

At all Brooklyn shows, the “Gladiator II” star will be joined by most of his West End cast mates. Co-star and fellow Olivier winner Anjana Vasan is set to reprise her role as Stella; Patsy Ferran has been tapped to play Blanche Du Dois again. The show’s original director Rebecca Frecknall — who is currently helming “Cabaret” on Broadway — returns as well.

For those unfamiliar with the source material, Tennessee Williams’ play follows former Southern belle Blanche who shacks up at a New Orleans apartment with her younger sister Stella and brother-in-law Stanley. Quibbles and explosive fights follow.

If you’d like to see the powerhouse production live, tickets are available for all upcoming “A Streetcar Named Desire” performances.

They’re not cheap, though.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find was $200 before fees on Vivid Seats.

Other shows have seats starting anywhere from $221 to $555 before fees.

“A Streetcar Named Desire” cast

As noted above, much of the London cast is making their way stateside. To make sure you’re familiar with their work, here’s a quick bio for five of the show’s leads.

Paul Mescal (Stanley Kowalski) is an Irish actor who broke out after starring in BBC Three’s “Normal People.” He’s also known for his turns in the heartbreaking “aftersun” and “All Of Us Strangers.” Most recently, he toplined the blockbuster “Gladiator II” and hosted “Saturday Night Live.”

Anjana Vasan (Stella Kowalski) was born in India. She graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in 2012. Notable roles of hers include Riz Ahmed’s “Mogul Mowgli,” “We Are Lady Parts,” “Black Mirror,” “Wicked Little Letters” and “Killing Eve.”

Patsy Ferran (Blanche Du Bois) originally hails from Spain. Her family moved to England when she was a child. On the silver screen, you may have seen her in “God’s Own Country,” “Tom & Jerry” and “Living.” Next up, she’s slated to star as Jane Austen in the series “Miss Austen.”

Dwane Walcott (Harold ‘Mitch’ Mitchell) has appeared in a number of films and TV series. His most well-known film roles include a 2015 adaptation of “Hamlet” and 2014’s “Coriolanus.” On the tube, he’s shown up in “Our Girl” and “Doctors.” If he sounds familiar, that’s likely because he lent his voice to “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.”

Eduardo Ackerman (Pablo Gonzales) starred in the 2019 short film “Happy New Year,” according to IMDb. He also played a number of roles in a production of “Let The Right One In” at LAMDA among other roles.
