Where to buy tickets, best prices, schedule

Over the course of his nearly 50-year career, Bill Murray has appeared in over 70 films.

In early 2025, he’ll bypass the silver screen for a bit and hit the road.

Starting Jan. 3, the “Saturday Night Live” alum is kicking off a quick five-show tour with his bluesy backing band The Blood Brothers featuring Mike Zito and Albert Castiglia.

On the brief run, they’ll play rowdy shows at Chicago’s Thalia Hall (Jan. 3-4), San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall (Jan. 29-30) and Atlanta’s Variety Playhouse (Feb. 7).

The pair of San Francisco gigs will be part of the annual SF Sketchfest featuring big name comedians from all over the globe. Kathryn Hahn, Ana Gasteyer, JB Smoove, Laraine Newman and Tim Curry are just a few of the icons joining Murray on this year’s star-studded bill.

As for what to expect at Murray and Blood Brothers concerts, fans will likely be treated high-energy, straight-faced but silly covers of classic tunes like Bob Dylan’s “Like A Rolling Stone,” Neil Young’s “Rockin’ In The Free World” The Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter” and ironic patter from the 74-year-old comedian.

If this sounds like the show for you, tickets are available for all five live Bill Murray and The Blood Brothers performances.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on seats was $70 before fees on Vivid Seats.

Other shows have tickets ranging anywhere from $78 before fees to $214.53 including fees.

Bill Murray upcoming projects

As of now, the workhorse actor has six projects set for release in the near future. To make sure you’re up to speed, here’s what’s up next for Murray, courtesy of IMDb.

“The Ploughmen” tells the story of a strange friendship between a haunted young deputy sheriff and a notorious old murderer that turns both their worlds upside down. Nick Nolte and Amy Madigan co-star.

“Being Mortal” may never be finished; Murray was accused of harassment on set. In any event, the film is comedian Aziz Ansari’s feature directorial debut and based on the book “Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters In The End.” Seth Rogen and Keke Palmer were also in the cast.

“The Springs” is a comedy about a retired detective (Murray) who turns his sleuthing skills to a retirement home after his brother is found dead there.

“The Phoenician Scheme” will be the latest Wes Anderson feature. This dark tale of espionage follows a strained father-daughter relationship within a family business. Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benicio Del Toro and Michael Cera round out the impressive ensemble.

‘Riff Raff” has already done the festival rounds and should hit theaters or streaming in early 2025. The picture takes a look at a former criminal’s ordinary life, which is turned upside down when his old family shows up for a long-awaited reunion. Jennifer Coolidge, Ed Harris, Gabrielle Union and Pete Davidson also appear.

“The Friend” follows a writer who adopts a Great Dane that belonged to a late friend and mentor. Naomi Watts, Constance Wu, Ann Dowd and Carla Gugino are the other major names to look out for here.

Bill Murray controversy

Murray, who is known for his fun-loving demeanor and party crashing, allegedly went too far on the set of “Being Mortal” and “kissed and straddled a younger female production staffer on set” according to Puck.

Entertainment Weekly said “the woman, who was ‘horrified’ at the incident, reportedly filed a complaint.

Soon after, Murray called the interaction a “miscommunication” and paid the victim “just north of $100,000” in a settlement, Puck reported.

“I did something I thought was funny, and it wasn’t taken that way,” Murray told CNBC. “The company, the movie studio, wanted to do the right thing, so they wanted to check it all out, investigate it, and so they stopped the production.”

“But as of now, we’re talking and we’re trying to make peace with each other… We’re both professionals. We like each other’s work… and if you can’t really get along and trust each other, there’s no point in going further working together or making a movie as well.”

In the past, Geena Davis and Lucy Liu complained about working with the comic actor on set as well.
