In 1981, Billy Idol left his seminal punk band Generation X and struck out on his own as a solo artist in New York City.
44 years and countless hits later, the iconic rocker is finally headlining Madison Square Garden.
Idol, 69, just announced his 2025 ‘It’s A Nice Day To…Tour Again’ tour with special guest Joan Jett and The Blackhearts that will send the pair to arenas, amphitheaters and music pavilions all over North America from April through September.
That includes MSG, which he’ll bring “White Wedding,” “Dancing With Myself,” “Rebel Yell,” “Eyes Without A Face,” “Mony Mony” and so many more classics to on Wednesday, Aug. 20.
He’ll also drop into Saratoga Springs’ Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Sunday, Aug. 17.
The hitmaker may deliver a few new tracks as well while on the road. A new LP will allegedly be released later this year on Dark Horse Records.
Fans can purchase tickets for all upcoming Billy Idol shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale for the ‘It’s A Nice Day To…Tour Again’ tour is Friday, Jan. 24.
Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.
They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
At all shows, Idol will be joined by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. The 66-year-old “Godmother of Punk” was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015 and is most well-known for her hits “I Love Rock ‘N Roll,” “Bad Reputation,” “I Hate Myself For Loving You” and a sublime cover of “Crimson and Clover.”
In addition to the tour, Jett is also headlining a Las Vegas residency this year and lending her talents to the annual New Orleans Jazz Festival with Dave Matthews Band, Lil Wayne, Pearl Jam and more.
For a closer look, you can find all of Joan Jett’s 2025 show and festival dates here.
Matt Rife
To announce the tour, Idol enlisted the talents of comedian Matt Rife (who’s also playing MSG this summer). The popular comic, who became well-known for his crowd work, appeared in a video as a barista, waiter and radio voice who references Idol’s biggest hits, driving the rocker mad in the process.
If you want to see for yourself, you can find the video below. Just make sure to stick around until the end for one final cameo that will surely make you smile.
