Primus is pulling double duty this year.
In addition to their co-headlining ‘Sessanta Tour’ with A Perfect Circle and Puscifer, Les Claypool’s group just announced they’re embarking on their own ‘Onward & Upward Summer Tour’ alongside special guests Ty Segall and MonoNeon.
On the solo run, they’ll make a pair of New York stops.
First, the “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver” band hit Lafayette, NY’s Beak and Skiffle Apple Orchards on Friday, July 18. Soon after, they’ll swoop into New York City’s Rooftop at Pier 17 on Monday, July 21.
“Hitting the road this summer with Hoffer (the band’s new drummer, John Hoffman, who was selected after a 6,100-person open audition) at the helm! This fiery, cheerful, octopus-like drummer from Shreveport, Louisiana has breathed a very potent breath of freshness into this band we all call PRIMUS,” Claypool, 61, shared in a press release.
“…fresh from their next jaunt around the states with Sessanta Part 2 this Spring, Hoffer, Ler, and The Ol’ Colonel will be playing some full length PRIMUS sets at choice venues across the US, dipping into material (mainly at the request of Hoffer) that have not been performed in a many years.”
Prior to the solo outing, the ‘Sessanta Tour’ drops by Holmdel, NJ’s PNC Bank Arts Center on Saturday, May 17.
If you’d like to hear Hoffman’s take on “My Name Is Mud,” “John The Fisherman” as well as a couple of surprise deep cuts while shouting “Primus sucks” (if you know, you know), seats can be scored for both tours as soon as today.
Fans can purchase tickets for all upcoming Primus shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale for the ‘Onwards & Upwards Tour’ is Friday, March 28.
Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.
They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.
