New York City’s month-long celebration of queer and trans culture is approaching its peak, with the final days of June promising an electrifying mix of protests, parties and performances.
For the past three weeks, LGBTQ+ New Yorkers and their friends have taken over the city’s streets, parks and dance floors to mark the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots — a pivotal moment in the fight for equality, whose lessons feel more urgent than ever.
But the celebration — and the fight — is far from over. Here are even more opportunities to honor Stonewall’s legacy while pushing for a more just and joyful future.

The all-afternoon event will include panels, cosplay, industry guests and more. For those over 21, the (Un)Masked Ball gets the party going into the evening hours with geeky drag performances, themed drinks and nerdlesque, described as “burlesque but with pop culture themes.” Fair: Free. Noon-7 p.m. at the Brooklyn Community Pride Center, 1561 Bedford Ave. Ball: $20 plus fees ($30 at the door). 7:30 p.m. at Whoopsie Daisy, 225 Rogers Ave.
