The White House slammed far-left NYC Councilman Chi Ossé for accusing President Trump of being a “pedophile” because he’s mentioned in the Epstein Files.
“Rather than spew egregious lies about President Trump, this Trump-deranged individual should ask Democrats like [New York Rep.] Hakeem Jeffries and [Virgin Islands Delegate] Stacey Plaskett why they were soliciting money and meetings with Epstein after he was a convicted sex offender,” White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson told The Post, responding to comments made by Ossé.
The Brooklyn Democratic socialist spewed the absurd claim during Thursday’s City Council meeting, while alleging the Trump administration yanked down the rainbow flag in front of the Stonewall National Monument to distract people from the Epstein scandal.
“I want to remind everyone that Donald Trump is potentially doing this to distract from the fact that he is in the Epstein Files, so he’s trying to rile us all up,” said Ossé, who co-chairs the Council’s LGBTQIA+ Caucus.
“There’s a pedophile of the United States who’s sitting in the White House,” he added, ignoring newly released FBI documents that show Trump personally called the police chief of Palm Beach, Fla., in 2006 to thank him for investigating Epstein — and told him to “focus on” the late financier’s “evil” accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell.
Other New York Democratic pols on Thursday defied the Trump administration by planting another Pride flag in front of the famed Stonewall Inn in Manhattan, considered the birthplace of the gay rights movement.
Councilwoman Vickie Paladino (R-Queens) defended Trump during Thursday’s session, saying “to call our sitting president a pedophile is absolutely ludicrous — and way out of line — because you can look at the Epstein Files and find a whole lot of names in there.”
“They’re pedophiles, too!” Ossé fired back, causing Majority Leader Shaun Abreu (D-Manhattan) to bang his gavel because Ossé spoke out of turn.
