Jennifer Lopez caught a stray during Whitney Cummings’ epic roast on CNN’s New Year’s Eve special.
The comedian, 42, savagely shaded Lopez, 55, and brought up the flop year that the singer just had during her viral bit in Times Square on Tuesday night.
“Let me be clear: 2024 was not only negative. The media wants us to believe this country is so divided, but we actually came together a lot together this year,” Cummings said to the camera while standing beside the special’s hosts, Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper.
“As a nation, we unanimously agreed that we would rather see J.Lo in a toxic relationship than in concert,” Cummings added.
Cohen, 56, gasped and made a face at the camera upon hearing Cummings’ savage takedown of Lopez.
The Post has reached out to Lopez’s rep for comment.
2024 saw the end of Lopez’s marriage to her fourth husband, Ben Affleck.
Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck, 52, in August on the two-year anniversary of their second wedding ceremony. According to her petition, the couple separated in April.
It was reported last year that Affleck’s “erratic mood swings” contributed to the pair’s breakup.
In her Feb. 2024 documentary “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” Lopez said that Affleck was hesitant to divulge details about their lives to the public.
“I don’t think he’s very comfortable with me doing all of this,” she admitted in a segment of the documentary. “But he loves me, he knows I’m an artist and he’s going to support me in every way he can because he knows he can’t stop me from making the music I made and writing the words that I wrote. That’s going to happen and he doesn’t want to stop me.”
Despite their split, Lopez and Affleck have remained amicable. The exes even reunited recently to exchange Christmas gifts.
Lopez’s career also took a major hit in 2024.
Her latest album, “This Is Me … Now,” inspired by her romance with Affleck, was the worst selling of Lopez’s career. Her companion film on Amazon Prime Video was panned, as well.
She even canceled her “This Is Me … Live” tour, which was supposed to begin in June 2024 and conclude two months later.
Live Nation announced that the tour was canned because the singer was “taking time off to be with her children, family and close friends.”
Lopez released a statement on the same day the cancellation was announced, saying, “I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary.”
At the time, Lopez was separated from Affleck but hadn’t filed for divorce yet.
In a recent interview with Variety, Lopez mentioned dealing with “challenging relationships” while discussing her new film “Unstoppable,” where she plays the mother of a wrestler born with one leg.
“We both grew up Latina in this country. We both had children and have hopes and dreams for them. We both had challenging relationships, which left us holding our families together,” said Lopez.
