Woman, 25, stabbed in back in random NYC subway rush-hour attack



A woman was stabbed in an unprovoked attack by a man inside a Manhattan subway station on Tuesday afternoon, cops said Wednesday.

The 25-year-old victim was walking down the stairs around 6:30 p.m. at the 23rd St. subway station near W. 23rd St. and Eighth Ave. in Chelsea when, out of nowhere, the attacker suddenly came up and stabbed her in the back, a police spokesperson and police sources said.

The stabber, who wore a white T-shirt and blue pants, fled the scene and has yet to be caught.

EMS transported the victim to Bellevue Hospital where she was in stable condition.
